My name is Jonathan Meinhof, and I am a PhD candidate at the Dusseldorf Institute for Competition Economics (DICE), which is part of Heinrich Heine University Dusseldorf.
My research interests involve Energy Economics, Environmental Economics, Applied Microeconomics, as well as Market Design and Regulation. To accomplish this, I utilize theoretical methods from game theory and industrial organization in conjunction with numerical simulations and reinforcement learning algorithms, as well as laboratory experiments. You can find further details about my ongoing research here.
In addition, I am proud to be a member of Energy Systems of the Future (ESYS), which was established by the German Academy of Technical Sciences (acatech) and the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina. Until May 2023, I have been involved in the working group Electricity Market of the Future, which explores options for the future development of the German energy sector.
